Our founder, lifelong traveler and adventurer Izzy Alsafa, established FOLIOT (pronounced /foˈlio/) in 2022. Early on, Izzy's father instilled in him an insatiable wanderlust…and a love for watches. As Izzy's father traveled the globe for work, he would bring back watches as gifts for young Izzy, whose curiosity led him to endlessly tinker with the souvenir timepieces. Growing up around the world—starting in Bangladesh, graduating from high school in Dubai, and moving to the United States for college and eventually work—Izzy embraced his father’s globetrotting passion: From scuba diving in the Caribbean to contemplating the peacefulness of the gardens of Japan to exploring the hidden alcoves of Europe’s oldest cities, Izzy is driven by an unquenchable desire to experience the world. It was the example of his father that set Izzy on his path as a lifelong traveler, adventurer, and watch lover, and these principles serve as the foundation for Foliot.

FOLIOT was founded in 2022. Our mission is to create American assembled, feature-filled, beautiful timepieces that excel in quality. Designing and assembling our timepieces in the USA gives us complete oversight of our quality control, enabling us to deliver products you can be confident will last a lifetime with proper care.
