History of BND Watches

Founded in 2021

«My passion for watchmaking began at the age of 18, when I was able to buy my first automatic dive watch, the original model of which dated from 1957. From the moment I put it on my wrist, I thought I was at the beginning of commercial underwater exploration. I started participating in watch forums to learn more about the iconic dive watches of the middle 20th century. I was very quickly seduced by their patinas, their proportions and the incredible stories that surrounded them. But this extra soul was nevertheless to be qualified in view of certain disadvantages. I am thinking in particular of the obsolescence of certain materials such as radium or acrylic but also of the explosion in their monetary value, which had the consequence of restricting their use. From this observation, BND was born in 2021, with the desire to offer French and accessible dive watches, inspired by the past but designed for the present, in order to accompany each customer in their daily life as well as in the seabed. This name was not chosen at random since it uses the 3 consonants of my last name. It symbolizes my most total and sincere personal investment in each of the stages of creating my watches. Convinced that simplicity leads to clarity, I worked on a minimalist design where the essential takes precedence over the superficial. This results in the purification of forms, the economy of words and the restricted use of colors. Aware that my brand only lives thanks to the trust placed by customers since the beginning of this adventure, I hope to keep it for a long time in order to make BND last.»
